Melting polar caps
There is a battle occurring between political conservatives and active academic scientists. I've spent a great amount of time analyzing Global Warming from an objective scientific stance, and the scientific proof is overwhelming that global warming is a fact.
The problem is that unscientific biased conservatives are spreading false rumors like wild fires because they do not want to take responsibility of paying $ to help undo the damage done by humanity. They read each others blogs, and state rumors as facts. A recent poll taken by the University of Illinois shows that over 97% of *actively publishing* climate scientists agree that *human* activity such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation is a significant contributing factor to global climate change-- reference: Peter T. According to additional sources, the majority of scientists who work on climate change agree on the main points.
